What is DORN METHOD HEALING METHOD:

A manual, holistic alternative therapy using a non-manipulative approach to correct misalignments in the spinal column and other joints. In its theoretical approach, it is somewhat related to chiropractic and osteopathy, although it is different in its practical application.

Dorn method is based on the correction of uneven leg length, which, according to Dorn, can be
diagnosed in every human. Because of that, the pelvis is said to become twisted and this can supposedly result in an asymmetrical, crooked or displaced spinal column.


What is DORN HEALING METHOD meant to do:

Based on simple laws of physics and human anatomy and applied through cooperation between the practitioner and patient, the therapy is not done on the patient but rather with the patient, who is in control during its application, is meant to balance and align the spine naturally.

It is believed that the human skeleton should be "symmetrical", "harmonic" and in a "static-dynamic alignment equilibrium". When we "upset" this "bone order" then our joints may be moved out of place, especially in the spine. Conventional medicine supposedly offers over-complicated explanations and solutions for such problems, and unnecessarily leads to operations or the requirement to use special shoes or insoles.


What happens during a THERAPY SESSION:

During a treatment, the practitioner palpates the patient's spine. If any 'unbalanced' areas are found, possible underlying misalignments are treated with gentle pressure using the thumb or hand against the spinous processes, while the patient enacts guided movements such as swinging the leg or arms to distract the muscles' inertia; this is similar to the principle of mechanics known as 'counter pressure'. In case of pain, the patient is advised to stop the procedure in order to avoid any damage to the body.

Patients often report positive results immediately after treatment. Afterwards, they learn specially designed self-help exercises that simulate the 'corrections' made during the treatm

Who developed DORN HEALING METHOD:

Developed by Dieter Dorn some 30 years ago in Germany, it is now fast becoming the widest used Therapy for Back Pain and many Spinal Disorders in Germany. The Method is featured in numerous books and medical expositions, taught to Medical Students in some Universities, covered by most private Medical Insurances and more and more recognized in general.

However because it is fairly new and not developed by a Medical Professional it is still considered an Alternative Healing Method in the ´up rise´ that is meant to stay FREE of becoming a `registered trademark` following the wish of the Founder Dieter Dorn so it would be accessible to many.


Who can execute DORN HEALING METHOD:

As of now only licensed Massage Therapists, Non Medical Practitioners (in Germany called Heilpraktiker (Healing Practitioners with Government recognition), Physical Therapists or Medical Doctors are authorized to practice with government license, but luckily the Dorn Method is mainly a True Self Help Method therefore all other Dorn Method Practitioners can legally help others by sharing it in this way.


What other countries are practicing DORN HEALING METHOD:
Canada, United States, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Spain, Italy, Greece, Turkey, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, India, Hong Kong, Korea, Singapore and the Philippines.
